Stainless steel instrument tubing is usually made of chromium (16–20%), nickel (8–14%), and trace amounts of molybdenum and carbon. This content provides superior corrosion resistance and strength. Mechanically, it has tensile strength of approximately 515 MPa, yield strength of about 205 MPa, and good elongation and hardness characteristics. It is cold-drawn for dimensional tolerances, with high pressure resistance and a smooth interior finish that maximizes fluid flow and system integrity in demanding applications.
