Stainless Steel 446 Tubing is one of the high-chromium ferritic alloys that has nearly 23–27% chromium and minute amounts of molybdenum, silicon, manganese, and carbon. With this composition, it is made more resistant to scaling and oxidation at high temperatures. The tube has a tensile strength of approximately 485 MPa and yield strength of 275 MPa, with an elongation of approximately 20%. It is characterized by high thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion, which makes it very stable in thermal stress.
