Stainless Steel 348 Pipes are crafted from a columbium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel alloy. Their typical chemical makeup features Chromium (17-20%), Nickel (8-11%), and Columbium/Tantalum (10xC-1.0%), along with low Carbon (<0.08%) and carefully controlled amounts of Manganese, Silicon, and Phosphorus. This alloy boasts a tensile strength of about 515 MPa, a yield strength of around 205 MPa, and an elongation of 35%. It also exhibits excellent resistance to creep and stress rupture at high temperatures. SS 348 is particularly resistant to intergranular corrosion, even post-welding, making it perfect for applications that involve prolonged heating.
