Stainless Steel 304L Heat Exchanger Tubing mainly contains iron, supplemented with 18-20% chromium and 8-12% nickel, offering superior corrosion resistance and increased hardness. The low carbon level (max 0.03%) is intended to minimize carbide precipitation during welding, making it perform better under corrosive conditions. Mechanically, it has tensile strength of about 485 MPa and yield strength of around 170 MPa with acceptable ductility and toughness. The tubing is heat-resistant to 870°C and has very good thermal conductivity, so it is well suited for use in heat exchangers that need to withstand stresses and thermal cycling.
