SMO 254 Tubing is a super-austenitic stainless steel made up of iron, along with significant amounts of chromium (19.5-20.5%), nickel (17.5-18.5%), molybdenum (6-6.5%), and nitrogen (0.18-0.22%), all while keeping carbon content low. It boasts impressive tensile strength of about 600 MPa and a yield strength of around 300 MPa, with a minimum elongation of 35%. Thanks to its high molybdenum and nitrogen content, it offers excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride stress corrosion cracking, making it perfect for extreme conditions involving high salinity and aggressive chemicals.
