90% copper and 10% nickel (Cu-Ni 90/10) or 70% copper and 30% nickel (Cu-Ni 70/30) are the typical compositions of copper nickel coil tubing. For added strength and resistance to corrosion, trace amounts of iron and manganese are added. It has outstanding mechanical qualities, such as 300–500 MPa tensile strength, 100–150 MPa yield strength, and 30–40% elongation. In addition to having good formability, weldability, and stability under high-temperature and high-pressure operating conditions, this tubing has outstanding resistance to stress corrosion cracking, biofouling, and seawater corrosion.
