Stainless Steel 317L Tubing is a low-carbon, high-molybdenum austenitic stainless steel alloy with around 18–20% chromium, 11–15% nickel, and 3–4% molybdenum content. The low carbon content makes it weldable and reduces carbide precipitation. It has a minimum tensile strength of 485 MPa and yield strength of 170 MPa with elongation of 35%. The alloy possesses high resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chemical attack in acidic and chloride-containing media. It has mechanical strength and thermal stability that make it suitable for applications under high temperature and high stress.
