Stainless Steel 440C Pipes are fabricated from high-carbon martensitic stainless steel with around 1.0–1.2% carbon, 16–18% chromium, and trace amounts of elements such as manganese, silicon, and molybdenum. The pipes are very hard and possess good wear resistance upon heat treatment. The mechanical qualities comprise tensile strength of about 760 MPa, yield strength of about 450 MPa, and very good hardness up to 58 HRC. Although they are strong, they provide modest corrosion resistance, primarily in the hardened and stress-relieved states, and are hence ideal for precision engineering applications.
