Stainless Steel 317L Pipes are made up of Chromium (18–20%), Nickel (11–15%), and Molybdenum (3–4%), with a Carbon content of ≤0.03% to minimize sensitization during welding. Its mechanical properties include a tensile strength of around 515 MPa, yield strength of about 205 MPa, and an elongation of roughly 35%. These pipes are non-magnetic when annealed, providing excellent formability and weldability. The low carbon content boosts weld integrity and lowers the risk of intergranular corrosion, making SS 317L ideal for both welded and seamless piping systems in tough service conditions.
